New York, NY.—June 27, 2014—American Eagle Outfitters (AEO) has selected Translation as its agency partner for the 2014 back-to-school season – a major sales period for the specialty apparel retailer, and a key benchmark as it positions its product lineup for the end-of-year holiday season. Translation, noted for its ability to connect established brands with youth culture, will lead all strategic and creative development for the AEO brand in the US and Canada, with a particular focus on the company’s market-leading denim line. The scope of the agency’s work will cover AEO’s 950 store locations, as well as digital, social, mobile, and other media.
American Eagle Outfitters constitutes Translation’s second account win of the year, following the addition of specialty athletic footwear and apparel retailer Champs Sports. The new account arrives just as Translation CCO John Norman and recently added ECDs Jay Berry and Marc d’Avignon launch a major expansion of the agency’s creative team, with additions to the department expected in the months ahead.
“American Eagle Outfitters is already incredibly successful – standing as the leading denim and specialty apparel retailer in their market,” notes Translation Founder and CEO Steve Stoute. “Translation’s role will be to deliver creative that surpasses previous standards, re-engaging the target AEO consumer and making a powerful statement in an increasingly competitive retail marketplace.”
