Armando Samuels

Group Creative Director

Armando Samuels serves as a Group Creative Director at Translation, where he puts his passion, dynamism, and wit to work for some of the independent agency’s flagship accounts. A consummate storyteller with a special flair for the rhythms and pacing of comedy, Armando has helped to deliver exuberant creative executions for a range of global brands, including adidas, the National Basketball Association, PepsiCo, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, and the Coca-Cola Company—to name just a few. His work has been recognized by some of the advertising industry’s most prestigious awards bodies, including the One Show, the CLIO Awards, and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Armando originally signed on with Translation as a Senior Copywriter, quickly rising through the ranks to the level of Creative Director, and eventually to GCD. Prior to joining Translation, he held Senior Copywriter and Copywriter positions at Deutsch and TBWA\Chiat\Day LA. Armando originally signed on with Chiat as an Account Executive, before quickly being tapped as one of the agency’s Youngblood Copywriters. After earning a permanent position on the Chiat creative team, he went on to serve as the lead copywriter for the celebrated Pepsi Max “Test Drive” campaign, which earned a cavalcade of awards and whose primary film has racked up over 45 million views on YouTube.

Beyond the world of advertising, Armando is an aspiring part-time comedian and a member of an adult diaper gang. He is a native of Panama City, Panama, and is trilingual in English, Spanish & gibberish.
