New York, NY. – June 29, 2015 – Two broadcast spots created by Translation were recognized at the prestigious Cannes Lions Awards this year—marking the latest in a string of victories for the NYC-based agency on the 2015 advertising awards circuit. Translation took home a Silver Lion in the category of Film for “Old Table,” a :30 spot created in summer 2014 on behalf of Value City Furniture. The agency was also shortlisted in the Film category thanks to “Barrier Breakers,” its MLK-themed debut for the National Basketball Association.
This is the fourth award win for Value City Furniture’s “Old Table,” which was recently honored by the 2015 AICP Awards, the 2015 D&AD Awards, and the 2015 One Show. “Barrier Breakers” was previously awarded at the 2015 CLIO Sports Awards, earning a Bronze award in the category of Commercial Film.
